RULES, REGULATIONS AND GYM ETIQUETTE FOR SUMMIT YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

CHECK IN PROCEDURES

All members are required to check in at the front desk each and every time they enter the building.  Please refer to guest procedures for non-members who accompany you as your guest.

HOURS OF OPERATION FOR SUMMIT YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Hours of operation will vary by season and holidays.  See the front desk for current hours and events.  We will also send e-mails notifying you of any changes or special upcoming events.

GYM/SCHOOL BAGS, ETC.

Gym/school bags are to be stored in a locker or cubby and are not permitted on the exercise floor.

LOCKER RULES

Lockers are provided on a per visit basis only and are not to be kept overnight. Members are required to bring their own lock or purchase one from our pro shop. Locks left on lockers for 48 hours will be cut off and the locker contents will be bagged and placed in Lost and Found.  Items in Lost and Found for more than 14 days will be thrown away or donated. Please do not bring valuables into the facility.  Summit Youth Development is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Members are responsible for locker damage, such as broken door handles, graffiti, etc. and may be charged for any needed repairs at the discretion of Summit Youth Development.

DRESS CODE FOR WORKOUT AREAS

Proper attire must be worn at all times.  Gym shorts, T-Shirts, aerobic outfits, jogging/sweat suits, and sneakers are acceptable.  Jeans, street clothes, shoes, boots, and cleats are prohibited. Members are not to go shirtless at any time. Flip flops, sandals, and bare feet are prohibited.

COURTESY RULES

Please pick up and dispose of your trash and empty bottles.  With the exception of water, no food or beverages are permitted in the workout area. This includes chewing gum. All food and/or smoothies must be consumed in the designated eating areas. No foul language. No horseplay.  No running in any areas other than the workout area. Only members and their approved guests are allowed in the facility.  Cell phone usage is restricted to the lobby area for emergency or pick up purposes only.  Socialization on phones is prohibited.  This includes text messaging. Photographs taken anywhere inside the facility is prohibited and will result in serious and possibly legal consequences.

 

ACADEMIC ROOM AND DOWNTIME ETIQUETTE

Do not download any files on company computers. Downloading or viewing of files, websites or other material that is sexual in nature, questionable, or inappropriate on any level is prohibited. Tutors and helpers are in charge.  They are to be listened to at all times. Food and drink policies are to be followed. Items left in the academic room will be placed in Lost and Found and thrown away or donated if they are not claimed after 14 days.

INTERNET, E-MAIL AND COMMUNICATION POLICY

It may not be possible to identify every standard and rule applicable to the use of electronic communication devices.  Therefore, members and their guests are asked to use sound judgment when using these features. Neither members nor guests may use these features to access, receive, view, or transmit any information that is discriminatory, offensive, threatening, sexual in nature, or  otherwise deemed inappropriate by the Summit Youth Development team. Any violation of this policy may result in the automatic termination of the member from the facility.  Members are also responsible for the conduct of any guest that they may bring into the facility.

CONDUCT OF MEMBERS

Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are prohibited.  Summit Youth Development reserves the right to refuse entry to any members. Weapons of any kind are prohibited. Graffiti, vandalism, or intentional damage to the facility or its property is subject to the member’s financial responsibility and also possible termination of membership. Photographic or filming equipment is prohibited, unless written permission is given by Summit Youth Development. Members are to follow standard safety rules in the front of the building and the parking area.  These areas are not places for socialization. No bikes, skateboards, roller blades, roller skates, or heelies are permitted in the facility.

 

GUEST POLICY

Members are entitled to bring a guest to the facility, subject to the provisions in these rules and in the Terms and Conditions.  Summit Youth Development has the right to dismiss any guest for failure to follow these policies throughout. Guest fees are those specified at the front desk area. The member is responsible not only for themselves, but for the conduct of their guest. Guests must enter and sign in with the member at the same time and also exit the facility together.

CARDIO AND WEIGHT AREA

Wipe off equipment after use. Re-rack your own plates, bars, etc. Notify a floor trainer immediately of any equipment problems. Lifters are required to use a collar/clip on all barbell exercises. Lifters must use spotters for appropriate lifts.

ALTERATION OF FACILITY RULES

Summit Youth Development reserves the right to make changes to these rules at any time.  If this occurs, we will display notices in the facility or notify members via e-mail.

RULES ENFORCEMENT

Members of Summit Youth Development are expected to treat the facility, the staff, and other members with the highest regard and respect.  Violations of these rules will result in one of two actions:

Zero Tolerance Violations:  These include the most extreme violations, such as fighting, alcohol or drug use, smoking, theft, possession of weapons, or any extreme behavior deemed by the staff to be intolerable will result in termination of membership.

Three Strikes:  This action is for violations of a lesser degree.  First warning is a warning to the member.  Second warning is a warning to the member and a call to his/her parents.  Third warning is suspension or termination of membership.
